Quite long ago I already teach my son, how to act of expressing the word "I LOVE U".
First, point to himself then put his pointer finger on other people. And the same time I will say "I love u".
Now everyday, almost a week already. Everytime when I went back home from office, he always want me to carry him, and he will point himself then put his pointer finger on me. After that he give me a hug hug and put his head on my shoulder. Ooohhh.... so lovely. Mommy love u too.
